I am spending mucho money trying to keep my 3 dogs free of fleas. I have posted about this white cat who seems to think he/she owns the neighborhood, and this cat is covered in fleas. This cat loves my front porch, suns in my backyard when my dogs don't know it.
My dogs stay in my backyard and in my home. Java is allergic to fleas, so add some more money to control this.
I am at my wits end with this... If I could catch the cat, put a collar on it, and send a note home to the owner, I would.
I have heard that citrus peels will deter cats with no harm done. I do like cats and have owned a couple, but right now I am just frustrated. It is not fair to my dogs nor to me!!!
This is not fair....
I can understand that, Marty. I thought about the same thing when my neighbor used to let his cats run wild. I figured they were not deflead since he didn't even spay them. I don't blame you for being frustrated with that. The cats liked my porch and deck, but no flea prob here (so far)...sadly his cats got hit by cars. Glad he is going where he won't have pets.
Was thinking about you today...with the heat. Has been in the 90's here (even over 100!) Angel went from laying in front of the a/c to laying down in a hot room upstairs (Don't get that). I also gave her a coool strawberry to lick...she loves em. Glad she is downstairs now where it is cooler. How bout your guys?

Re: This is not fair....
I would suspect that if you are using the once a month topical flea drops, any live fleas will be on their way to the dead house soon...but you can;t just blame the cat because all critters, ie mice, squirrels, rabbits etc etcv can be a distributer of the fleas...I don;t understnad if you are using a good topicl that the fleas on the peup are not in the first or sostage of dying...I really think you have to use a good topical or injectableis abvailable, or even a good flea spray that they are still getting and living on your pup'' I have probably missed your visit to a vets but if not then try it and there might be better answers...but youcannot blame the cat alone..how bout your rugs etc etc etc...there is an answer someplace.
