The little runt baby is going to a forever home tonight.
I have worried about this one because she is so much tinier than her sisters but tonight she will get a chance to survive!
I work with the girl who is taking her home to her family and she has raised little ones before. She will make sure this baby gets good care and even KMR if necessary for a while longer. The vet next week for checkup.
We are both excited! Even though I normally do not like to take them from Mom this soon-4he might be 10 weeks or so but is just soooo tiny I was afraid a tom would get her
One Kitten Goes To A New Home
Re: One Kitten Goes To A New Home
So far...so good....
I talked to the new Mom...she was not home yet when we left...she was about a mile away but we had to go and her hubby was wanting to get introductions started....he took the kitten to the front porch and held her to the screen for the dog to sniff at her...she is used to dogs after playing with Ghost and Sammie so was not hissy or puffy....and the dog is quite taken to her as well....
Then they went inside and he held her down for their cat to sniff at....she too was thrilled to have a new one...but the kitten did get all huffy with the cat!!
My friend cannot believe how TINY she is and she said no way will the vet believe her when she tells him how old she is!!
When I talked to her last, they were on the way to get a 2nd litterbox to have on the main floor for her as well as kitten food, KMR formula and more toys...
For now...until baby gets bigger and more aware of her surroundings, they will put her in the bathroom with her litterbox and food and water and toys when they are not home and at night...so she is safe from the others and so she does not get lost under/behind furniture!!!
Hissy Spitty (momma kitty) I think was looking for her this evening....I was playing with one of the other two and attempting to lure the 3rd one out and Hissy Spitty was running around looking here and there and chirping I do feel sorry for her becuase she is a very good mom...but I just was not trusting of the toms and Hissy is tiny herself...

That is great Tambrey that she has a safe new home.

Bittersweet news Tambrey but I'm glad the baby will be well taken care of.
