Cat constantly vomiting

Post by Sarah »

Hi, I have a cat that is 16 years old that all of a sudden stopped eatting and constantly vomits. She is getting very thin and I can't find anything that she will eat. She will eat small amounts of tuna but nothing more than that. I have taken her to the vet and they have done all the normal blood work on her to see if anything is failing on her but they all came back that she is fine?? I am completely baffeled over this and I don't know if it is just due to her age or what? Has anyone experienced this before or have any suggestions as to what I can do for her?? I have tried every kind of cat food around......hard, soft, semi soft. She just won't eat.

Sarah,

Not eating for a number of days is very serious, you must take her to a new vet or ER vet immediately for fluids and more testing.Your cat may be in liver/or kidmey failure or other serious illness. Go now and request the records from the first vet.

Good luck, I am praying for you and your kitty.

Mona is right, either get her back to your vet for further testing, or a new vet.

Did your vet perform a thyroid panel? What about a heart workup with an ECG? Was Inflammatory Bowel Disease ruled out? Were x-rays taken? What about a complete oral exam? If none of these were done, they need to be done promptly....don't wait on this, several days of insufficient nutritional support can lead to serious liver or kidney failure, diabetes, and other major health problems.
