Taffy

Post by Sonique »

So today my mom had to put her cat, Taffy to sleep. His kidney's just failed and they don't know why. I guess 2 percent of cats will have that kind of problem. It's just... sad, he died on her lap. She had him for about 6 years and he was... he was at least 10.

Well if you have any kind words I'll pass them along to my mother next time I see her. May you rest in piece, Taffy.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your Mom's kitty. Please pass on my sympathies to her. I lost my Buster kitty at 8 years old and don't know why he died either (last July). So I understand her pain - that Taffy didn't have a longer life.

Taffy is well and happy at the Rainbow Bridge. My furangels will make sure he is welcomed warmly. Again, I'm so sorry to hear this. Losing our furbabies has to be one of the most painful things in life.

Sue (and Kids!)
My kitties Shadow and Tank enable me to enjoy my existence and brighten my world. And may my angels, Nikki, Sparky, Buster, Frosty, Snowball, Leo, Foghorn, and Humane Society kitties be playing in the sunshine at the Rainbow Bridge.

Sonique, I'm so sorry, I hope your mom can find peace in her heart that she gave Taffy a good long life.

If the kidneys failed suddenly, it would be acute kidney failure, which occurs mostly due to a toxin of some sort (tainted food, ingesting plants, or ingesting chemicals or rodenticide etc). If the kidney failure was slowly progressing, it would be chronic renal failure, in which occurs in many older cats. Early detection and treatment can help slow the progression.

Safe and gentle journey, sweet Taffy, you will be missed

I am so sorry for your mom....it is hard to have to let a loved furkid go....but Taffy know your mom loved him and all of our furkids are busy showing him the ropes over in the playground across the Rainbow Bridge....

Interesting, well I'll let her know but I'm not sure what Taffy would have gotten into.

Just an FYI for you guys, they didn't find anything in Taffy that he digested that would cause his kidneys to fail. He was 14 years old, so I guess age just got to him

Well mom appreciated all your comments anyway so thanks.
