Awwww, I suppose it's good he found a home, but I'm sure Nanceen is sad  Has she had prior contact with your other cats? This is a stressful time for her, please keep a very close eye on her and give lots and lots of love.

Are your rescue groups campaigning with the Adopt-A-Shelter Cat/Adopt-A-Cat Month?

Nanceen is past sad; she's downright b!tchy. Yes, she had had lots of prior contact with my guys for 1-2 hours at a time quite often. Since she realized she's not getting back in "her" room she's turned into a real crank case, especially since she no longer has kittens. I have, a couple of times, let her in there to see there's nothing for her there except her old litter box. The second time she hissed at one of the kittens (imposters, all imposters!!!). She seems a little calmer today just as long as no one gets in her way.
I'm just hoping as each day goes by, and her miok starts to dry up she'll be calmer. She used to be real good around my guys...even Gracie the one-eyed bully backs off.
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

Poor thing... in the natural course of events, she would be just about ready to start pushing the kittens away, but she doesn't understand this. Thank you for seeing her through this phase, Debbie. I hope her human family will be understanding.

E's, her family will not see her again until she has had a little time to recup from being spayed. I'm hoping the spay will be in two weeks pronto! Give her 4-5 days to recup and off she goes. Up until now she really was just the sweetest little cat you'd ever want to meet. She and my guys had no issues. About 15 minutes ago, she was up here by the computer with me....one of mine was just alking by the table and she sprung after him/her...happened so danged fast I have no idea who she ambused....he/she went under the bed.
I have no other room to keep her in...,tried the bathroom shortly last night and she hammered at the door. I can't keep the kittens in the bathroom because it's the only one here and it's small.
I'm hoping someone in the rescue group will have a spot for her or that this "mood" will pass soon!
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

Can you consider just letting her in another room by herself for an hour or so at a time? Just enough time that she knows she still gets alittle privacy. It's really tough on them when their babies are taken from them.

Also, if possible, try to keep her at LEAST 7 days from post-spay. Case in point, my Christabel developed an infection not immediately post-spay but over 10 days later :(

If the owner wasn't responsible to get Nanceen spayed in a timely manner previously, they may not recognize a spay incision infection in a timely manner.

The deal with nanceen, at least while in my care, is that two weeks after she' done with the kittens she is spayed. Then she spends a week here to recup, then she can go back to her owners.
She seems to be letting up with her warpath. In fact, I was laying on the couch last night with hubby watching tv. On my hip was hubby, on my chest was Gracie, next to me by my face was Sals, and right below Sals, next to my chest was Nanceen!!! She does seem to be getting more calm. I've also let her in that room a couple more times and all she keeps seeing are kittens that are not her own. That may be helping her...don't know. She doesn't seem to mind Razzeratz at all and they will eat side by side with no problems or hang out here by the computer with me.
We did have her in the bathroom and she just hammers at the door. There are no other rooms we can keep her in. Remember, this is a 5 room apartment and with the exception of the bathroom and the two bedrooms, none of the other rooms have doors.
Kitty kisses,
Debbie
