I woke up at 5:15 to the sound of her screaming. She looked like she was trying to puke but nothing was coming up. After about 10 minjutes she finally settled down and loooked like she was just gasping for air. The other kittens were all concerned and kept going over to see if they could help. Nanceen was all nervous and jerky about it too. Hubby decided we should just take her to the vets; even he couldn't see her suffer like that.
Memorial Day, no one will be open, so we went to ER. Doc at ER said it was fluid on the lungs. Infection? Allergies? At that age, and with the sudden onset, he couldn't tell. Gave her some amoxy, steroids and put her in an incubator with oxygen for an hour to see how she does. She rallied only briefly, then crashed. He also said that if she got through this she may have another or more episodes later on.
She met the angels at 8:45.
She was such a sweet llittle girl...a cheerful little bully, always very active and looking for fun. Such a screwball little tyke.
