Seems a never ending flow of them!! We were down to three and now we are up to seven again *sigh*
This one doesn't have a name yet...I call her the Gray Girl for now. I am thinking she might have recently had kittens or is pregnant because her nipples are larger than normal. Mammary glands don't feel too full, but she comes to eat and then heads out into the woods...rarely does she hang around. If I was positive she didn't have kittens hidden out there somewhere I would catch her and have her tested and spayed. She is very sweet, loves to be petted and sometimes seems to want attention as much as food, but she doesn't take well to being picked up. She disappeared for days once when I tried to pick her up to cart her up to the vets office for FeLV/FIV testing. I'm slowing building her trust up again.
The next one is somewhat of a sad case. I call him Gimpy Guy...he's a sweet looking gray, un-neutered male and very feral. He's been showing up on and off for a couple of months but only recently has he really been hanging around a lot. We cannot catch him, he won't let us near him. He will sit a few feet away from me and let me talk to him, but the first time I reach out with my hand he is gone in a heartbeat. I think trapping is our only option for him. He has had some sort of injury or deformity to his front right paw, but it doesn't seem to keep him from running like lightening. Doesn't he have the sweetest look on his face?

uh, dont i know....they can be real cute and interesting creatures....but as you say...pesky. one of the residents in my neighborhood recently moved out and has been hand feeding them for years from his back porch...for whatever reason, my back porch must smell the same...sigh.Tina B and crew wrote:don't even get me started on those pesky coons!!
so far, no major damage (well just a little)....but my kitties get quite upset for weeks when there is encounter like that.

Tina,
You are such a kitty angel for helping all these precious creatures. Keep up the good work. I wonder if she will ever bring the kitties out of the woods if in fact they do exist.

There are some strays near my house that I see running far from the garbage bins every time I take the trash out.
That is where I rescued my little Maximus from. Is it a good idea to leave food out for these kittys?
Better to try to catch them? Maximus is my firstt kitten so I have sero experience except from May 3rd this year till now.
Do I wear gloves when I pet them?? What precautions should I take?
There is a place called Meoe-aid that will come out and rescue them and its a safe place for cats. They wont kill them.
