Kitty playground!

Post by slvrwhispr »

There are boxes all over my living room. Here's why.

The cats have been going stir crazy lately. They've been getting into everything, no amount of play time wears them out, Emmy has been literally dragging my throw rug around the house (and it's not small!) and Izzy has been horizontally climbing the furniture.

The past couple of days, I've gotten a bunch of packages in the mail, and I bought a new box fan. After carefully examining the boxes for staples or other dangers, I just... tossed them all in the living room floor. And the kitties think it's GREAT fun. And now I don't have any more things getting destroyed! Everybody wins. Sure, my living room looks like a disaster area, but they're no longer trying to push over the television! I'll take it.

(They've tired me out... LOL)

Hey, was wondering where you were. I can identify with that. I leave boxes from deliveries around the house for a while and Angel has a ball with them. Then sometimes I change things up - move her stuff around to keep her interested. My house too looks like a kitty playland, but that's ok. We are good moms!

I've been lurking. Trying to keep busy with hubby gone. So far so good -- almost a month down! It flew by. Only 11 more...

How can you communicate with him? My friend in Iraq has access to his computer on a limited basis. I don't try to expect too much email as he is a nice young man with a girl friend to email. Can your husband email you?

Boxes are a big hit here too. In fact, I'm told when I was a little kid I liked them too, LOL! Guess we know what I was in a previous lilfe!
Just keep nice and busy with hubby gone. It must be so stressful having him over there. You've both got my prayers for his safe return.
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

It's not too bad. He calls me every other day. He's got internet access where he's at right now on his own personal laptop, so whenever he's got free time, he's online. They just moved up to Iraq yesterday, so they're still going to be doing lots of training and briefing and working on vehicles. Reports are right now they won't even have any missions for the next 3 months or so, and once they do it's going to be rebuilding infrastructure type things. So it's not too bad, really. It'll be essentially a 7-5 workday with free time in the evenings. Could certainly be worse. Could also change, but I'm really hoping it doesn't, obviously.

I cleaned the boxes up last night but now Emmy's back to chewing on my dang rug... lol. So I think I might pull ALL the empty boxes out in the spare room and let them have at it. I'll get some pictures for you ladies. :)

We haven't had the chance to play with Skype yet. Once he's settled and has a big chunk of free time, we'll try it out. We both have webcams and have been using those.
