Hey Traci...have any idea as to what::

Post by davet »

this stuff was supposed to do????as per that anal sac problem???

1. Hepar Sulfur 9c : 1/2 dose to give today. I gave it when we got home, then 1/2 an hour later, gave to Belle her late breakfast (we went to the vet with an empty stomach as I did not know what would be the plan). She ate very well.
2. Mercurius Solubilis 7c, 2 granules twice a day during 5 days
3. Belladonna 7c, 2 granules 3 times a day during 5 days
4. Silicea 9c : 1/2 dose in 8 days
5. Arnica 9c : 1/2 dose in 15 days
6. Arnica 15c : 1/2 dose in 18 days
7. Arnica 30c : 1/2 dose in 21 days

As per anal sac blockage and abcess, nothing.

As per dubious claims? Here ya go:

Arnica: bruises, chapped skin, from backache to vericose veins to muscle relaxant
Belladona: fever remedy, antiinflammatory, hot spots, from acne to mumps/measles/smallpox
Mercurious: mouth problems, discharge, emotional unbalance, from bad breath to measles and small pox
Silicea AKA Silica: from allergies to constipation to teething to anxiety
Sulfur: skin conditions

Of course, each and every one of them has a claim to treat a miriad of conditions, how convenient :^o

Davet, you didn't (GASP!) give antibiotics, did you...msg

I mean, why only give one proven medicine when you could have given all of these, and changed the diet a lot too 8)

antibiotics when the abscess were really bad but most the time, they went home with a small vial of betadine and que tips...course i guess i could have made them use their own q-tips....i would suspect any more treatment would be classified as overkill.....

30C??

Post by BoxerTom »

It's always fun as a chemist to calculate the concentrations these supposed "remedies" actually contain. For the 9C crap, assuming a 100 mg tablet you can expect to find 6-10 molecules of starting material/tablet. 15 and 30C... forget it - all traces are long gone - yet they even sell 200C, 1M and 10M dilutions! Nice business to have selling essentially pure lactose tablets for 50 cents a tablet..
