cat shows

Post by HALLI »

Hi. I am interested in cat shows, but strictly for FUN!!! i have a wonderfully handsome tuxedo cat (obviously a household pet) and i have had the WORST luck trying to find a HHP show in my area. I live outside of philly (west chester to be specific) and every time i go on the CFA website and see a show in King of Prussia, i never see the letters HHP telling me i can show my cat. does anyone have any advice on how else to find HHP cat shows or even has anyone shown their cats before. my boyfriend thinks i'm a little psycho over scrapper, but he's just too cute to keep to myself. i'm sure all you other crazy cat lovers completely understand. thanks for your help ahead of time!!!

Probably because the shows include HHP as a category in the show rather than a sole HHP show. I would contact CFA at their website, or call any of the show directors near you for more information on how to enter your kitty.

For what it's worth, please think this through carefully, visit other cat shows in your area and see how things are run, how the cats are cared for, their personalities, the registry or association's requirments, rules, etc. If you are seriously considering showing your kitty, your kitty should have a bubbly personality, not be fearful of strangers, crowds, and not be affected by much stress. Cat shows are extremely stressful on any kitty, so their welfare, comfort and health should be your number one priorities. Be sure to thoroughly investigate any show and their admission requirements regarding vaccinations, health history, vet certificates, etc. The last thing you want is your kitty picking up a viral or anything else from other cats at a show, or to be severely stressed from a bad experience.
