Holiday pics!
Okay, okay, before you all have heart attacks... the reason our tree is up SO soon is because hubby's going to be gone the first two weeks of December (thanks a lot, Army ), and as soon as he's back, we're headed up to Detroit. Plus, he was in Iraq last year for Christmas and will be in Iraq next year for Christmas, so this is really all we get. And we wanted to get to gettin' it.
Anyway, there was a fly that had gotten in and was buzzing around the lamp. Both of my girls were terribly interested in this fly, hence why the light is so fascinating.
Here's the tree (no tinsel, beaded garland, plastic-coated wire hangers wrapped around both ornament and branch very tightly, anchored to the couch).
And here's me and hubby.
I know it'll be a while before anyone else can throw their pics in, but I couldn't wait any longer to share these with you guys. I'm not crazy! I'm just an Army wife.

That is such a great picture of you 2 - God Bless you both, it just makes me happy to see you both so happy. And the tree is wonderful. Christmas is when you make it yours.
(PS - SW when I was young like you 2 my boyfriend and I had put up a big real tree in the dining room. The cat was missing -we found her...She was hanging on to the tree trunk for dear life. We had to fish her out of the middle of the pine tree...ouch those needles hurt ! Was kinda like the Chevy Chase movie, except wasn't a squirrel just a nutty cat.)
I hope this Christmas brings many wonderful memories for you both to talk about in the years ahead.

slvrwhispr, next time someone asks about cats and christmas trees, I'll direct them to you, beautiful (and cat-proof) job on the tree!
Your pics are gorgeous, I love the one of the tree/light and the kiddens, that's calendar, art material! And you and hubby look great and so happy together, I hope you guys have the best Christmas ever!

Re: Holiday pics!
This is, I think, fourth... Christmas with cats? Fifth? Something like that. And as I'm very passionate about Christmas and love the decorations, I've had to get pretty creative with making things cat-proof. There's not much I haven't tried.
Thanks for the compliments, guys. Hubby and I had a great time decorating and I made sure to take TONS of pictures.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, all the way around, just awwwwwwww. So sweet.
Re: Holiday pics!
I wish. I love decorating, especially Christmas, and I have boxes full of the neatest stuff, but with the number of cats I have now, it would be a disaster.
Enjoy the holidays, slvrwhispr, you and hubby (and kids) deserve it!
You taking the kids to Detroit with you?

Re: Holiday pics!
Nope. I don't think they'd last the trip. Emmy sprints for doors and Izzy'd go apoplectic on me. Plus Tyler's been really slowing down and I'm afraid the two cats would put him in the grave. I've got a neighbor with whom I've gotten to be very good friends. She spends lots of time over here, she loves cats, and she'll come play with them every day. I watch her kitten when she's gone and she watches mine. It's a nice layer of security, and I don't have to worry about losing one of them somewhere on the road.
Re: Holiday pics!
Sounds good, but do you know the drill? If not, just ask, I'll write out a kitty-sitter-10-page-checklist for you and your kitty sitter

Hahahaha. Don't worry. She and I have gotten to be very good friends, and we talk about our kitties like moms with babies talk about their kids. There isn't a better kitty-sitter on the planet. And they know her. Emmy gets excited when she comes over 'cause she knows she's gonna get playtime.
