HAHA. I love that they're making the same face at one another.

I cannot believe that this is the same cat we carried in by the scruff yowling and hissing and carrying on just a few short weeks ago it seems....

He is drinking water from the fountain...chasing the others around the furniture....chasing his own tail....and tonight has been happily batting a foil ball I made for him...the others he has had a difficult time getting ahold of and keeping track of, but the foil one he can hook with his one front foot and then toss it and chase it...

He has also taken a liking to the laser that hubby keeps in his pocket....

He sleeps with Cuddles....or Munkie...and he and Roo are getting along and playing tag with each other....some of the others are still a bit aloof...but overall....things have gone VERY well and he has adjusted MUCH better and MUCH faster than I ever expeted him to when we brought him in!!

The only thing that makes me sad is when he goes for a drink, or is playing, his left stump will bat at the air... :(

It's been a while, so I thought I would add some updated pics of Tripod so you can see how well he is doing....

He was snuggling in my lap so I grabbed the camera and held it out away from us!!

Image

Roo came to give him some loving head butts...you can see Munkie in the background....

Just another lap picture....

And this one is just to show how nicely he has filled out...I wish you could feel how silky smooth and velvety soft his fur is now....not all rough and prickly like it was when he first came in....

Gosh... his coloring is SO similar to Emmy's. I love the fluffy white chest; makes them look so regal. And look at him, turned right into a regular ol' snuggle bug. :D

The vet could not find anything wrong with that eye...he (sort of) sedated him...put some drops in and used an eye scope similar to what jewelers use to look into the eye and could not see any debris or a scratch that would have shown up with the drops...but with the grainery going and pollens in the air, we are going to wait and see what later in the fall brings and see if the weeping settles down....it is not constant....it just sometimes weeps...I just wipe off the gunk....

Yes...he really has become a snuggle bug!!

And to see him tear through the house playing with the others, you would have no idea that he has only 3 legs....except he CLUMPS along and is NOT quiet at all...there is no way he could ever sneak up on anyone!!

And he LOVES the laser...OMG....he chases that thing all over the place!!

Just an update on how well he is doing....

Tripod runs and plays with the other cats....he loves to roll and play with Munkie...he and Roo chase each other around....up and down furniture and the stairs....

And the other day, my husband was batting and tapping at him...Tripod kept batting his stump at hubby...but then....Tripod stopped....he got a look of sheer concentration on his face....even his tongue came out of his mouth....he sat back on his haunches and lifted his good front paw and gave hubby a swat on his hand!!!! :D

We had a good laugh and Tripod had a triumphant look on his face....like "HAH...I did it!!"

Hahaha! What a resilient little guy! I'm so happy to hear an update. His story is very uplifting, and I needed something like this today.

The amazing story of Tripod (the aptly-named :D ) continues! I still think you should write up his case history and present it to the vet med schools @ U Iowa and U Nebraska... it is such an upbeat, heartening story of triumph over misfortune!
