slvrwhispr, I'm going to be blunt.

Under NO circumstances should you allow this woman or her husband or her kids to come to your door or enter, ever again.

You do NOT want to offer this nutjob any contact with this kitten. Any "visitation" they might have expected, will NOT occur. This will only open the door for conflict and they don't even deserve that much.

They gave her to you. It's a DONE deal, period. Do NOT allow your emotions to get the better of you and do NOT fall for their crap.

You took her in, rescued her, protected her and treated her for worms etc, and had her properly spayed and you paid every dime. Did they pay you one cent? NOPE.

Again, they gave her back. END OF STORY.

Y'know, in retrospect, here's what annoys me. They said they've been looking EVERYWHERE for her and calling for her and this that and the other.

There have been no lost kitten posters. There hasn't been anyone calling outside. I never once saw them searching for her, and I've been on the lookout for it. No calls to vets, no postings on the internet. Gosh, they must have been really broken up that she was gone. Especially since she was JUST SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT, and both DH and I picked her up SEVERAL times. Yeah, they were looking REAL hard.

If she got out now, I wouldn't be going back inside until I found her. My world would stop until she was back with me. And no, I don't have two small children and I don't have a job so I have the luxury of being able to put my world on hold if needed for a cat. But that just means she IS better off with me. End of story... going to call after I shower and make an appointment to get her microchipped ASAP. That will put all of this to rest.

Thank you. I'm glad you see this for what it really was, and is.

Emmy is yours. YOURS. And obviously, she chose you!

How did these people even know Emmy was with you?

I'm glad it's over. Glad Emmy is back forever and for good with you and glad you'll be moving in a few weeks away from these people.

I just put a small package in the mail to you this afternoon. I have the delivery confirmation number if need be but if you could just let me know when it arrives so I know it got to you safely, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

They saw her in the window. But. It's over and I don't really want to think about it anymore.

I'll keep an eye on the mailbox. :)

This cat is TOO funny for words. She's such a kitten, she wants to play ALL the time, even when she's too tired to play anymore. Right now, she's sitting on the blanket beside me, milk-treading... except she keeps falling asleep while milk-treading and flopping over, either onto me or onto the arm of the couch. So I prop her back up and she goes back to milk treading... until she dozes off and falls over... so I stand her back up... I'm laughing so hard I'm almost in tears.

Sounds so cute. Angel and I are having fun tonight, too. She went to vet and got nails, ears done and all fixed up and she is chipper and playing a lot. I can tell she feels good. Bet she would love to play with Emmy and Izzy. Angel peeks around the couch and chirps and that means...Mom lets play. She likes to chase the mouse on a string/stick. What is Emmy's favorite toy?

Emmy's favorite toy is Izzy. But I've got a jingle ball on a stick on a string that I bring out for group playtime and she loves to chase that around.

Izzy, though... she'll sit on the arm of the chair and deliberately flick her tail. Emmy will stalk and pounce it, and then Izzy will try to swat her. Emmy runs off, Izzy turns back around and flicks her tail, and it happens again. I love that they're playmates already. Integrating them was effortless.

It's been less than a week, and they're this comfortable with each other. Wow.

PS, yes, I need to get more food bowls... lol. The plastic one is just temporary until I can get to the pet store. It works for now...
