Izzy pics -- very image heavy!

Post by slvrwhispr »

I got bored earlier and started playing with the digital zoom on my camera. It's pretty impressive, I think. So, here's a bunch of cat pictures. Enjoy. :)

Izzy is such a beautiful girl, you should be so proud!

Great job on the closeups, they're really detailed, and beautiful!

I hope to get mine up soon, I have alot of zooms too!

Great shots of Izzy...she always reminds me of my Willow :)

Are you sure that is the "digital" zoom and not optical zoom? I've never seen digital zoom with such quality and these are great!

Yes ma'am, digital zoom. You should see some of these pics I took at the San Antonio zoo. I was nowhere NEAR the animals, but I've got up-close pics of them. Canon PowerShot SX100IS. It's probably the best $250 I've ever spent in my life. It's a WONDERFUL camera.

Q from a dummy: what's the difference between digital zoom and optical zoom?

Optical zoom uses only the lens. It's the way all non-digital cameras zoom, and it depends on the length of the lens how close or far away from an object you can get.

Digital zoom is a feature of digital cameras, and it basically crops an image for you and then enlarges the image to fit the pixel size you have set. So, in theory, when you use digital zoom, you're losing picture quality because it's just expanding the pixels for you. But newer cameras have better technology, and they're getting better every day, so digital zoom is getting to be higher quality.
