Our puppy dog has a doggy door to the outside, however, we want our three kittens to be strictly indoors. [We had the puppy first, and found the kittens on the side of the road, apparently orphaned.]
Has anyone faced this situation and if so, is there a way to allow the puppy freedom to go in and out while keeping the kitties in?
I thought about creating some sort of covering for the opening, maybe the same color as the door, hoping the kittens wouldn't notice. But, all three were born with serious Houdini-genes. The get into and out of EVERYTHING!

There is a dog door which opens using a remote. You put the transmitter on the dog's collar, but not on the cats.

Doesn't matter if the elctronic collar works or not, if the kittens are near the door at any time the dog is, out they will go.
Start adjusting to taking your dog out physically. Or, if you have a daylight basement, close off the basement to the cats, allow only the dog downstairs to use the dog door, but you still have to be there to let him in/out the basement door.
