Awww, Jon, I'm so sorry, that must have torn up your heart.

Don't think of it as bad luck, think of it as experience. And as having had wonderful gifts brought into your life. I'm sure you loved them very much and I'm sure they felt that in return...

Jon, I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss.

It will take lots of time and patience, but eventually, she will come to trust you. It sounds like she's already started! You never know, from here on out, you might be surprised every day at how much more she trusts you than even the day before! :)

Mine loves peanut butter (as I type, she's begging like crazy for some of my Peanut Butter-flavored PowerBar) and tortilla chips - don't worry Aunties, she doesn't get junk food often!! - they're all so different! I'm shocked that one of them learned to use the toilet on her own! Cats learn by observation, though, and I know more than one who like to sit and watch ... :wink: still, I'd have to see it to believe it!
