you could easily go on three per day with no problem and possibly increasing the amount but don't let her pick, ie if not gone in 5 to 10 minutes then pick it up and save for next feeding..she is old enough that she doesn't need constant food...try it, if she is distressed then go to four but she could easily be on three.
She squeals and runs for the food dish, so funny.
I will try the 3 meals, she can snack on the Science Diet nuggets too. This is the only dry food she liked and it has been improved so I do not have a problem with that.
Remember that growing and developing kittens are expending tons of energy, hence the appetite and need for energy in the diet (not to mention the vital kitten nutrients). I free-feed my kittens as much as they want, it's hard to overfeed a young kitten....if you are referring to a 4 oz can plus half each day, that's really not a lot and may not be enough for her individual needs. (again, keep energy level in mind)
She is up to about two cans per day now, and I also give her some Science Diet Kitten Nuggets to eat and fresh water. She expells so much energy, a very active little kitten.
