LOL That figures, doesn't it? This chain, like so many others these days, is a franchise operation of individual owners/managers.... Guess we just hit it lucky in '05, or it was the disaster mode, or maybe it has to do with locality: the Super 8s I've stopped at were all in the South. The last one I stayed at was in Beaumont, June of '07 - I didn't have pets with me but was traveling alone and went there because the Holiday Inn I planned to go to turned out to be a highrise and I am somewhat disabled... but it did take pets.Guess I better check to make sure if I take Pinto & Q along next visit to NOLA... [In the "good old days" I always drove straight through, pets or not - 9 hrs from south shore of Lake Pontchartrain to Austin or north San Antonio, a few minutes more out to Medina County... *sigh*]

Anyway, hope this finds you and companions back in Texas safe!

glad to hear kitty is ok.

Ummmm make sure you note these hotels for future reference.  I'd like to know who to stay clear of in those franchises!

Hugs and save journey!

Here she is, in Texas with me, enjoying the view from the new apartment. :)

I had more good to report, but she got startled by a loud noise while snuggling and used my arm as a springboard. She sliced me pretty good, and it hurts to type.

But I wanted to post the picture anyway.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go stop the bleeding on my arm. Crazy skittish cat...

WHEW. Finally got an actual internet connection. We were "borrowing" it from an unseen neighbor with an unsecured network, but it was slooooooow. Now we have our own and it's fast and happy. Here's the picture of Izzy that wouldn't load the other day.

And here's a picture of my arm after she spooked and used me as a launching post.

I've been in car accidents that hurt less than that seven pound cat launching herself off my arm. It doesn't make any sense. She's tiny! How can such a tiny cat do so much damage?

Oh well. Other than that minor trauma, we're all settling in to the new place. There are lots of window sills for Izzy to sit on, lots of sunlight for her to nap in, and lots of room to run around and trip the humans. Also, Jon has taken over feeding her, and now she's his new best friend.

Awww, love the pic, and glad to hear everything is returning back to "normal"!

Sorry about the scratches, keep an eye on those punctures, they look a bit deep.

Silver- so glad you all made it safe and sound. Izzy is a doll - so cute.

Years ago I move from Pittsburgh to NY and had constructed this elaborate cat container for my 2 cats...well about a mile down the road she got out. E's was right cause she tried to get under my feet - not good for driving. We stopped and got her back in but she was the one who cried for almost 15 hours...I agree with you never again!

I admire you for starting a new life. You go girl!

They are. I still can't figure out how on earth such a tiny cat was able to spring off my arm hard enough to leave bruising behind. I don't bruise THAT easily. It's weird. But I've been keeping it clean and all that, so it's healing up, at least.

Great to hear!!! Glad you are all safe!

Yes do keep an eye on those punctures. Keep them clean. And if squeeze it a bit and stuff comes out please make sure you clean it up well and get that junk out of put some antibiotic ointment on it. Any redness around the area is signs of infection so just be careful.

Hugs to all of you!!
