Cat bringing home prey

Post by sjw »

Hi,
I'm a first time cat owner, we got our cat aroung 6 months ago from the RSPCA as a tiny kitten. He's never been the most affectionate of cats but has semmed happy around us. About a week ago he started spending much more time outdoors and bringing home dead birds and mice. He is now bringing home about 2 a day and is starting to eat them. What can i do?

Simple answer: Indoors ONLY!!

Long answer: by allowing him outdoors, you are knowingly putting him at risk for parasites, toxins, viral infections via other cats, and numerous other outdoor hazards.

Do the right thing, keep him happy and safe INDOORS.

In addition to what Traci says, allowing a cat to destroy birdlife is damaging to the ecology and gives the cat haters reason to be more strident...
