I was gone for 21 days to Türkiye...what a wonderful, wonderful adventure it was!! I had no shortage of cat love, for Turkey is full of cats..wonderful, friendly cats! I was very concerned about being away from Willow since she is so attached to me. So I left her some clothes with my scent on them and a recording of my voice for Tim to play. I was not able to call home but twice while I was gone but each time Tim told me Willow was more vocal than ever. She never stopped eating however, but she bugged the snot out of Tim everyone morning wanting to know where her mommy was!! She was extremely happy to see me when I dragged myself in here Monday evening around midnight after a grueling 28 hours of travel! Tim said whenever he played my voice for her she seemed more upset than comforted, so he eventually quit. When I called from Detroit he let me talk to her and she was hollering like crazy!
At any rate, I now know I can leave her for an extended period of time as long as Tim stays....I'm glad to be home, but miss Turkey very much. I fell completely in love with the country while there. It is beautiful and the people are so very friendly. The food is fabulous and the cats are great. Unfortunately they do not regularly spay and neuter, but all the cats I met seemed healthy and none were feral. Maybe my mission will be to go back and educate the people about population control
