Skin rash
Skin rash
When I had my kitty neutered, she was shaved in her tommy, so I noticed that she had some skin lessions and I asked my vet about them. He said just to wait, and if it got worse, then we'll do testing. Im wondering if there'd be any other course of action that would be better to take. She got the stitches taken out this week and today I noticed a little red bump, it looks like a big pimple in her tommy, seems to be filled with something, and it is where one of the stitches was. Im wondering if that could be an infection. If so, could I take her to the vet until tomorrow maybe?? I have a really crampped day today, so its difficult to make time to do that. if she got an infection... should the vet charge for that??
Re: Skin rash
Did you ask him over the phone, or did you actually take her to SEE him for an exam? He cannot see/diagnose over the phone, nor can we over the net, so you know what to do, get her to a vet immediately. Him telling you to "wait and see" is virtually negligent, since he knows she was just spayed and he knows he needs to rule out potential infection or hernia.
If this is the same vet you took either of the two cats to before, you REALLY need to ditch him and see a vet who knows what he's doing!
So, yes, she needs to see the vet NOW, and determine the "bump" is NOT an infection or hernia. There should be NO reason she has any lesions whatsoever on her skin after a spay.
(BTW, can you please keep all your posts about the same kitten/cat in one post? It makes it easier and faster for us to refer to prior history by only having to refer to one post. Thanks.)
