A tribute to Mr. Blue, and to all of you...it's been 5 years

Post by Mary Plummer »

...now since I first met Mr. Blue. What a joy he's been to us! More than that, though: he's inspired laughter, tears, and a whole lot of learning. When people talk about "heart dogs," I can't help but think I'm living with mine right now, and how lucky I am. I also think my heart has grown, in the process of giving it to him.

I also want to thank all of you for the help, support and fun you've provided to me over the years. Mr. Blue's life has definitely been better because of good advice I've received here, but mine has too. I'm honored that you've let me share your knowledge, good times, and tears. I consider you to be my friends, even though we'll probably never meet in "real time." Thanks to Traci and Jason for giving us this place to continue our friendship! I'm getting a bit sappy here, so I'll end on a different note, with a question: would any of you believe that I was never goofy until I met Mr. Blue :D

Nope! But that doesn't matter, does it. It's always nice to celebrate aniversaries. I email the rescue folks each year with news of Angel on our aniversary. You're very lucky to have found Mr.Blue, and he is even luckier to have found you!

Congradulations and may you have many more happy years ahead. .... I've been blessed with more than one heart or 'Once in a lifetime' dog and wish others the same luck. ...

Thanks k9Karen and Skeptic...I've informed Mr. Blue that...

...I would really like it if he would stop getting older right now, at almost 6 years of age. He's trying, but I don't think he's got it quite figured out yet. I guess we are both so incredibly lucky; I can only hope that I'll be as lucky throughout the rest of my life to have a "heart dog" with me.

and so lucky to have found you! I get sappy around Winnie, too. I still remember, when she was a pup, having to leave her with Hubby to visit Mom. She cuddled next to me, and I almost couldn't go! Is this Mr Blue's Gotcha Day?

Mary- very nice sentiment and NO...would not believe your goofiness began when you met Mr Blue. I think that God wanted him to have so much fun after he suffered so much and gave him a joyful person to be with. Then beacuse he felt secure Mr. B's own goofiness came out. Just my humble opinion. It is so nice to hear about how much fun you have together. Congratulations to you both on your 5th Anniversary!

A present for you both:

~ Mr. Blue ~"To call him a dog hardly seems to do him justice, though inasmuch as he has four legs, a tail and barks, I admit he is, to all outward appearances. But to those of us who know him well, he is a perfect gentleman."

Thanks all...I love the quote, MomPaws! I don't know if...

..."gentleman" is a word I would use for Mr. Blue; that does seem to include a lack of goofiness, which he's got a lot of :D Today isn't the day we got to bring him home (that was Aug 10 or so); today is the day we first met a scrawny, limping, flea- and tick-covered stray with blue eyes. I think I'd started loving by the end of that first afternoon! I told him last night what a great 5 years this has been, and got answered with a kiss on the nose.

Mary- so we could get a handle on this level of goofiness...need a better comparison..or maybe he is just indescribable!
