You know, I have no idea. It was a little white pill that made the flees drop off of her within 30min.
It was gross, but effective. The ointment was more of alcohol base than a cream, and absorbed into her skin very quickly. Next time I go to the vet I'll ask.

You really should be mindful of the procedures your vet does and what products he uses. Aren't they listed on your invoice?
That's a bit of overkill, using both an oral flea medication as well as a topical flea medication. Unless there was severe flea infestation, meaning, enough to cause anemia, skin lesions, allergic reaction, etc....the topical was probably the only thing necessary.
Please find out what both products were. Don't just wait til "next time", call them up and ask them.

As much as I appreciate your advice, I can't help but feel I'm getting scolded by my mother!
I assure you, my feline is my child. I would never do to her anything I felt would be harmful in any way. Before taking said child to the vet, or stopping by to pick up this medicine, I inquired to make sure it was AAHA-accredited and received recommendations from several kitty owners in the area as to veterinary clinics with high esteem and good practice.

"Scolding" not intended. Just wondering why you don't know what was given her...we are constantly trying to educate about fleas, and appropriate products, (some are deadly to cats). I question why your vet used both an oral and a topical because this is unusual to do so. (which is why I asked)

It's okay. If I loved all cats as much as I love my kitty, I would do whatever I could to make sure they were safe, and that the uneducated (mostly me most of the time) had someone to talk to about it.
The topical stuff was a "once every 3 months" long term flea solution. A Flea "birth control" that stops the fleas from having little flea babies.
As soon as I can, I'm going to figure out how to get some pictures of Mia up here for you too see!
