Can you take a clear picture of the affected ear and post it here?

What was the medicine you were putting into his ears? Was it veterinary prescribed?

so he had ear mites to the point that he scratched at his ear hard enough to cause a hematoma?!
Yes...these are VERY painful to the cat....have you ever hit your thumbnail or finger with a hammer, or slammed it in a door,
and got a blood blister under your fingernail...how much pressure and pain that is?!
Well...that is pretty much how that ear is feeling to that cat...all swollen
and causing him to probably droop his head to one side...probably giving him one heck of a headache...earrache...
and every time you have to hold that ear to put the drops in...it is causing MORE pain and MORE damage...
The ear needs drained...period...it is NOT a difficult procedure, but a necessary one at that...
I have had 2 cats over the years that got a hematoma...the vet cut a slit on the inside of the ear...drained it...
then used slipknot (or granny knots if you embroider) to sew the two earflaps back together...
Yes, they have what looks like cauliflower ear now, but there is no more swelling or pain...

WHAT is the medication that was prescribed? What is the name of it?
The picture is too blurry to make anything out.
Tell your mom she needs to get kitty to a new vet TODAY and get the ear treated appropriately. Show her these posts.

Re: My cat has a werid bubble in it's ear!!! what is it???
I think we are looking at the ear from the front of the cat, so the whitish would be the swollen inside of the ear, and it definitely looks like a hematoma to me...even blurry...
WOW...what does that say about MY eyes?!

Hematomas are blue or purple or red, the white is probably the skin of the ear. I see nothing in this picture, it needs to be clear.
