Hey guys, been to the vet, and nothing!!!

He said all the heads are down and ready, and shes ready to go and kittens should be here very soon. Im glad I took her because I asked him to shave her belly, as weird as it looks I want the kittens to have as much access to the nipples as possible.

Im GLAD im going to spay her after this litter, I dont think I could deal with the stress! Taking her to the vet was stressful for her and me, and I just love her too much to do this to her again.

I think I will keep one of the kittens so she can have a mate to play with inside, as I know she gets lonely.

So, I will let you know once the kittens arrive and how many she has had.

Ill also post some pics for all you to see too :) Getting excited now and I feel better after speaking to the vet.

Please make sure you have an emergency vet or emergency vet facilities available during kitty's delivery...as I mentioned earlier, Persian's have a narrow birth canal and she could have complications, particularly if this is her first litter, or if she is a small/young cat, anything can go wrong.

Please also read Feline Pregnancy and Delivery for tips, what to watch for concerning complications, etc. Do NOT assume this pregnancy/delivery will go smoothly..while it might, it also might not. Be attentive to her and her kittens' every move!

What did the vet say, how far along is she?

He said we should be expecting kittens in the next few days, up to a week.

We actually picked up a pamphlet for a Emergency Vet while we were at the vets, incase something goes wrong with my girl.

I will be watching her and the bubs every move whilst she labours. :)

Thanks heaps guys.

Hey guys, still no kittens, if she hasnt gone by Friday I will be going to the vet again. I rang them and they said wait a few more days.

She is started to go into weird places and scratching alot, so I am guessing we are very close. Her boobies are starting to get bigger too.

Not long now! I seriously dont know how people breed cats or dogs all the time! Im so stressed for my baby, and I have no idea how im gunna be when shes in labour. My Husband will definitely have to help.

Do you HAVE a place ready for her? You could help her by providing a cardboard box, lined with newspaper and soft towels, big enough for her to access and stretch out in, but high enough that newborns cannot find their way out of. The nursing box should be in a quiet, private, warm area, away from drafts, and away from other pets, small children, noises, etc. She needs to feel comfortable in this area so that she can nurse in quiet, and not be disturbed. You SHOULD however, keep an eye on her at all times, before, during and after delivery and of course an eye on the kittens at all times. If you've never done this before and you're prone to panic, maybe you could consider asking your vet to monitor her at the clinic during delivery, etc.

If she is stressed, pacing, laying down then getting up frequently, discharging blood, pus or any discolored discharge, is in pain, or straining but not producing a kitten, get her to an ER immediately!

Thanks Traci!

Only about 30 mins after I wrote that she started labouring!

Shes up to Number 5 and I think she might still have one in her. Every single kitten has been very stress free and she is resting and cleaning her kittens inbetween. The first 3 kittens came about within 10 mins of each one, and the fourth and fifth were an hour later 10 mins apart.

Yes I have made a big cardboard box filled with lots of towels, sheets etc.

She didnt go near the box before labouring but she is in there now! After I noticed she was looking for me, I put her in the box and then she just started having a kitty!

She has had six now. I think there is still one in her, and shes just started panting again. Its been about 4 hours since the last kitten, should I take her to the vet?

YES! Get her to a vet NOW! Whenever labor persists without a kitten for over an hour, get to an ER vet immediately!
