Your furkids are beautiful. Do I see a couple of cats with attitude?
Of course it's only a head-shot and only one picture, but Spartan looks like a mix between a Malamute or Siberian Husky and a German Shepherd or similar breed to me. The long, heavy muzzle looks like that in a couple of German Shepherds bred in Germany that a childhood friend of mine had. It even reminds me somewhat of a Great Dane (without the jowls that some have). That's not to say he couldn't have some Akita in him, or even be an Akita. All the Akitas I knew when we were in Japan had much longer fur, shorter muzzles, and smaller ears. However, I think the American version of the breed does not look exactly as I remember them. Does he have a tightly curled tail? Whatever he is, he is a gorgeous dog. He looks very intelligent.

Zorro is my favorite
Re: Pics of my kids, finally!
Very handsome furfamily! Zorro would be my favorite too. Then again, I'm partial ... okay totally biased ... to black cats!

K9Karen you hit the nail on the head. Oscar has attitude to spare and he was in eye view of Chase when I took his photo and Chase does not care for Oscar.
I have to confess I am a bad mommy and that Zorro is my favorite too. I think it has to do with the two weeks he was confined to a cage when we first rescued him due to a broken leg and tail amputation. He was to be kept inactive so I would take and cradle him in one arm and let him mutilate my other hand so he had something to do.
Spartan strikes me as more of a husky mix as well, although when you look at him straight on he does have a wider face. Whatever he is, he's a sweety.

What a great group! Though all are handsome, I too especially like Zorro because (1) he looks like my Q and (2) the name reminds me of the first cat I got in N.O. - a kitten born in the yard of the house I'd just bought in 1977 was the perfect "masked" type of black & white, so I said "This one is Zorro!" When it turned out to be a girl, she became Zorrah Rorschach the Inkblot Cartoon Cat - she had a long, interesting life. Thanks for posting these sweet pictures.
