And don't forget, tomorrow is Friday, you're facing a weekend, you don't want to wait on this. You know they are good at hiding pain and illness...it could be an infection, an impaction in the colon, it could be anything. If he's dehydrated, that would affect his coat right away. Vomiting also causes dehydration quite quickly.

Has he urinated?

I called the vet Saturday because still no stool produced...but Majik is not showing any signs of stress or illness either...

He said that since he had been throwing up and a bit lethargic for the day or two before I took him in, he could have possibly not eaten much for that time, and if he had diahhrea as well, that it may take through the weekend for him to start eating enough to really produce a stool....?

I wanted to bring him in, but the vet said since he is still not showing any signs of distress and is eating and drinking well and not throwing up now to wait the weekend out and see how he is on Monday...but if still nothing by then, to bring him back in...

With the cats sharing litterboxes, I honestly do not know if he had diahhrea or not before then...

No distension in his belly...no pain when I palpate or even rough around and play with him...

As I mentioned before, he has eaten some kibble and a can of soft food a day...but he ran into the main house lastnight, so I let him...he went right to the kitchen...gorged himself on kibble...then threw it up...even though I have kibble in a bowl in the hall for him...I switched dishes to see if he maybe did not like the dish I gave him...

Soo...we wait....and see what tomorrow brings....

I hate to make it seem like i am making light of this but I guess i'll pray for pooping to occur and hope he is not in pain. Hugs to you and him.

Last Tuesday is when you noticed his lethargy, and to your recollection no stool on or near that day, then vomiting on Wednesday, and no stool has been produced since Tuesday, despite having had dry and canned food, AND hairball remedy (which should have helped push the little bit of food he did eat), then vomiting food eaten. It's been almost a week since stool was produced, maybe even longer.

Take him in today, Tambrey, expect an xray or barium xray series and/or CBC, ok?

I am sorry I did not come on yesterday....lots of things going on with my son again....basically all I have done since Sunday night is cry and cry some more...or sleep...and to top it all...Sunday night I slipped on the ice, where we had walked and driven when it was snow, then it froze over...I have a NASTY bruise and ostrich egg sized sore on my left hip/thigh...my left heel of my hand is shredded from jagged ice...my right shoulder managed to get jarred, and the back of my head...
I did nothing except exist for the last 2 days, I am ashamed to say
Today I am feeling better....

WE HAVE POOP!!
I found POOP in Majik's litterbox...it is quite firm...like a wad of clay almost...but definitely poop....I admit it...I picked it apart...hands wash!!

He also ate a half cup of dry kibble today and has not thrown that up...usually when he was eating that much at one time, he would throw it back up...but not this time...

We will continue with the CatLax and separation until I see some more normal looking poop...and if he does not go more...we will go see about an enema to help move things along...

Did you catch him straining, and/or was there blood in the stool? Was the stool hard? It could still be a hairball but it could also still be a slight impaction going on. Good to know he's eating and keeping it down, but monitor the box carefully and take note of more stool, consistency, and break it up to see if there is hair or something in it. If he has hard stool, it will be painful to pass, and there could still be a partial impaction in the colon. Watch this, he should be producing normally by now. If not by tomorrow and a normal amount/consistency, I would still get him seen again.

We have LOTS of POOP today!!!

I worked and did not get home until around 2:00 and I went to check...there were a few more of the smaller clumpy ones, and a BIG LONG HAIRY one...so I do believe that was the culprit and things should be moving more regularly once again...

I am going to keep Majik separate through the weekend just to be sure...

Gotta love how, as pet owners, we somehow end up walking down the road of celebrating poop.

Hehehehe. XD
