Forty-four percent of respondents to a survey of cat owners in England recently conducted by Cats Protection indicated that they "enjoy a better night’s sleep with their cat on their bed...than with their partner in their bed."
Only 26 percent of the men who were polled agreed with the statement, but a majority - 51 percent - of the women did.
"Those who said they enjoyed a better night’s sleep with their cat stated they felt safer and more comforted with their feline," said Cats Protection Head of Promotions Judy Bernstein.
Among the other advantages of cats cited by respondents were more space on the bed, purring and an absence of harassment and/or snoring.
A total of 420 individuals took the survey. All of them were at least 20, but no older than 40.
Most of the individuals - 55 percent - indicated that they would be willing to allow their cats to "hog the covers" in order to make themselves more comfortable, but not permit partners to do so.

My husband's snoring.....
doesn't bother me a bit. In fact, if he's not snoring, I think there's something wrong! Honestly
One night when I went to bed, he wasn't making a sound. Couldn't tell if he was breathing or not. He's usually a light sleeper, and always wakes up when I come in and grunt, or something. This time, NOTHING! So, I gave him a nudge in his side. Nothing. Gave him a harder nudge. Still nothing! Then I gave him a really hard push, and that did it. He rolled on his back, and started snoring loud. Whew.......I really was worried there for a while!
Normally I'm the one who snores the loudest, and if I fall asleep before he does, sometimes he can't get to sleep at all. So, he tells me to go sleep on the couch. LOL.....We usually start out with three or four cats on the bed, but eventually they leave. Guess I keep them awake, too!

hey bluburd... have you ever heard of sleep apnea? I don't know if that's what your hubby has, but it sounds like it could be - and it can be dangerous! Might want to have it checked out?
