Neutered Cat Spraying PLEASE HELP!!

Post by fiona_n_leo »

I have two cats. One female one male. Fiona is 4 and Leo is 5, Leo came to us about 4 months ago. And is neutered, but he likes to spray in certain spots in the hallway which are all corners for the most part. I am going to take him to the vet however I cant right at the moment. Anyone have any ideas on how to help him or stop him in the mean time??

Thanks!

He needs to see the vet NOW, to rule out possible urinary tract infection, this cannot wait!

How do the cats get along? Had they been properly introduced, and allowed time to acclimate to one another?

What if any, stresses are occuring in the environment? Stress can cause male cats to spray and mark, so think back and try to determine what is stressing him (i.e, change in environment, company, cats outside the doors/windows, rearranging furniture, food changes, intimidation by another pet, change in your own routine, etc). What are his litterbox habits like? Is the litterbox kept clean on a daily basis? Is he avoiding the litter or litterbox for some reason? Do you have more than one litterbox?

Vet visit immediately, first!
