New Kitten timid and hiding! Please help!
Re: New Kitten timid and hiding! Please help!
I've raised all my kittens on Iams, Eukanuba is good too.

Re: New Kitten timid and hiding! Please help!
Hi everyone, just wanted to give you an update on Fiona.
She's doing much better, very very happy to be petted and loved. She had her first vet appointment today, and while she wasn't thrilled, she didn't put up a fight when examined or when I needed to put her in/take her out of the carrier. She got over it pretty quickly once we were home.
Test for feline leukemia is negative, and she's on antibiotics for a cold. She gets her next distemper shot next week.
We bought her a giant scratching post from a local company. It's way way nicer and bigger than the ones at PetSmart, so I'm glad I went with the local place. If anyone is interested, they're called Custom Cat Purrrniture in St. Paul, MN. You can Google them and order online if you'd like. She loves the post, she's climbing and scratching away. She's also started to use her cat bed which is also great.
We opened up the door to the living room. She's been periodically checking things out, but still pretty timid about the rest of the house. She seems pretty happy overall though. Thanks again for all your help and encouragement, we love her to pieces

Thank you so much for the update, glad to hear things are moving along nicely!!
Please, though, if she has an upper respiratory infection, keep a very very close eye on her, watch for inappetance/drinking less, lethargy, etc, in which any additional or worsening symptoms would demand another vet visit immediately. Also, I would NOT advise her vaccination booster if she has a URI, wait until the infection has completely cleared, please talk to your vet about that.

I'm very happy to hear that she's happy now. I knew she couldn't resist being loved for too long. Heehee. :D
And sigh, Saint Paul. I miss it there. Lived there for a while. It was too hot in summer and too cold in winter, but it sure was nice the rest of the time. Hahaha. :P

Traci-
Yep the vet said that if she is still symptomatic next week we will need to reschedule the booster. She's also on the verge of getting her adult teeth (hence all the chewing?) so by then she may get a rabies vaccine too. All dependent upon her health of course.
She's eating and drinking and playing normally so far, just a few sneezes in between all of that
