Kittens update and pics
The kittens are now 8 weeks old. They've tested neg on FELV/FIV but have had a very slight eye thing,,,mainly gray boy but all are doing well and should be able to get their shots this week and go to Petco next week...wish them luck. They're very active and very, very affectionate.
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

*wistful sigh* All you people who post pictures of cats in need of loving homes who are too far away for me to adopt them...

Ditto - but I couldn't anyway - and have come to the point where I try not to pass the cats-for-adoption section of our nearby PetsMart... or PetsMart itself on adopt-a-dog Saturday!
Still like to see the pics here. Very nice, Debbie - Thanks!

Debbie, I have a big lump in my throat, what a bittersweet time for you and the babes. You've given them a wonderful head start in life and I pray with all my heart that the perfect kitty parents adopt them and mommy into loving caring, responsible homes.
Does Petco have an extensive, strict adoption and home-check/followup policy?
Can you make strict requests they are adopted together or at least in pairs?
Thanks for posting such adorable pics of the little babes and mommy, and for sharing them with us!

Re: Kittens update and pics
Traci,
Petco doesn't have any policy on adoptions of cats as they are adopted through rescue groups. The one I'm working with has a very good list of questions they interview with with strict policies that the cats will not be declawed, outside and will be s/n'd. They do follow up. Of course they can't enforce the policy, but they do offer discounts withthe care and maintenence. As for adopting all together or in pairs, that would be great if it could be done. But aiming for that could hinder the adoption of the one cat that could be taken, so it's not a good idea to hold out. You could wind up with none taken. I suppose I could request that, but I won't and am not in favor of it being a necessity. They are all very cute and healthy looking so I'm hoping they will have no problem being adopted.
They have been fun though!

We also adopt thru Petco and so does the county shelter. They have been great! Nothing goes out our doors unless it's been s/n first.

They are adorable Debbie. I hope they all get good homes as soon as they go to Petco.
