My cat is usally a talkitive loveable kitty.
I came down stairs to see him curled up in a ball sitting six inches away form the female of the house who was in heat at the time... He was flinching is eyes like someone sprayed him in the face with water or something.... I went to check him out and he ran away from me like i had beat him ... which is very unlike him. i finally got him and looked at his face ... i saw nothing wrong no blood or anything. I assumed he was just spooked by something. He's been very solitare since then. He only howls for his brother. We keep his food up on a glass table to keep away from the ants.. and he's been missing when jumping onto the table.. i thought maybe he pulled something so i pulled out the chair so he could us it as a step up and he acted like it wasnt there... My husband started to watch him very very closely when he was awake. He said I think he's blind...
i took out a flash light and tried to see if i could get his pupls to diolate.. and nothing not even a quint. He seems to see some movement from other cats .. but not like normal... I'm scared i dont know what to do.. I'm affraid if i take him to the vet i dont want them to put him to sleep.. i just dont know what you do with a blind cat .. I need help I'm so worried.. or am i just over reacting?

I am sorry to hear that your kitty is not well. You must not let your fear keep you from taking your kitty to the vet, but I do understand how you feel. Your cat is obviously not well, so you DO know what to do, and you must call your vet right away! You cannot determine what is wrong from just looking at your cat, and WE definitely cannot on the internet. Please do not hesitate another minute...your baby needs you to help him. He can't do it himself. Let us know what the vet says. Good luck, kk
obviously anything would be a guess, but like KK says get him checked as soon as possible and blindness is not a death sentance....get a diagnosis first and then worry about the rest...lots of blind cats do fine.....
I third the motion, your kitty needs to be seen by a vet.....you didn't say how old he is, but if he's older than 6 year of age, get a full bloodwork panel done including urinalysis and thyroid panel. All cats over the age of 6 should have this done anually to keep abreast of any underlying health illnesses.
Do a quick check around your home for any tell-tale signs of him possibly getting into something toxic.....you need to rule out toxin ingestion, plants, chemicals, or anything else he could have gotten into and is suddenly displaying signs of illness.
Blind cats can fair very well in life, you only need to make minor adjustments for him. That can be explained later, and by your vet. Get him seen NOW, your vet is the only one who can determine the problem.

we just caught on that something was wrong last night around midnight
I'm lookin at vets now so i'll keep ya updated after i take him
good news though.. he's talking to me again and being loveable so i guess that can be a good sign of course that wont stop me from taking him to a dr
i do feel bad.. its so hard to know whats wrong.. i need to teach my guys to talk heh

I'd like to add one thing ... please get your female cat spayed and the boys neutered if they're not already! It will improve the female's health (they are at much higher risk of cancer if not spayed) and the boys will be better behaved.
You're really doing them a favor by spaying/neutering.
