Goopy eyes/Stiff humped up

Post by carebear »

Hello. Hope you can help. 'Tis a mystery.

I have 3, 6 and 10 month cats suffering from similiar symptoms. 3 month had runny goopy eyes earlier which has cleared up. Her front legs are stiff when she walks. Small for her age and not as strong as she should be. Treated her with S250 for coccidia. She has gotten better except for the stiffness.

6 month old seemed to develope humped up back and stiffness with discomfort. Started about 3 weeks ago. Seems to be slowly getting better. She has also gotten a runny goopy eye.

10 month old has gotten a stiff sore back leg.

All 3 are eatting, drinking and going to the bathroom normally. Their coats are soft and shinny.

Like I said, 'tis a mystery. Please if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks
Carebear.

My first reaction is take them to a vet immediately.

Did you treat yourself for the coccidia? or did a vet prescribe this medication. It is one I have never heard of.

In any event stiffness in limbs could be something neurological and needs to be addressed right away.

Good luck and please call for the appointment.

Assuming you've taken all three to your vet, and assuming that's where you got the albon.... If you haven't had a recheck since coccidia was shown in the fecal, it's time to do it NOW. If by chance a fecal was never done, the vet needs to differentiate this from toxoplasma or cryptosporidium, both of which can be serious conditions, with weakness, ongoing symptoms (cryptosporidium can be life-threatening)

If your vet isn't taking this seriously, it's time to seek a new opinion NOW, and not a minute later....It sounds like there is something else going on here that is unrelated to coccidia, you need to get it addressed, diagnosed and treated immediately.

Your kitties need to be seen by a vet now, and by one that is concerned about them!!
