My Boys are peeing on cat tower help!!!

Yes, pretty much most pet stores carry it. I was at petsmart yesterday and saw it there. It is also called "comfort zone" and it comes in a pink package. they're probably peeing on that cat tower in order to warn the dogs to stay away. My cat is not fond of my brother, and one time when he was visiting she peed on the couch exactly where he had been sitting after he got up.

Frawri, do you still have or are still taking in rescue dogs? Whom do the dog beds in the kitchen belong to? Your dogs or the rescue dogs? Can you put the dog beds in an area away from the cats?

Are you still using the Petastic? Don't just spot-spray when you know they've urinated, you have to clean your furniture thoroughly, allow to dry and sometimes it is necessary to re-apply. Make sure it is allowed to dry thoroughly before allowing pets near the furniture. When you're not home, cover the furniture with light plastic covers or even shower curtain liners if necessary.

Feliway doesn't work for all cats, so be prepared for that. If you choose to use a Feliway diffuser, please only plug it in an outlet where the cats cannot get to it. Also, if you look at the comfortzone products, be sure you don't mistake the comfortzone feliway for the comfortzone DAP which is for dogs.

They are spraying their own beds, they were used for our home dogs. But the cats used them too. I found it sprayed a few days ago. When I clean up the spray I soak it up. Then I poar the pet tastic over it, so it is soaking wet. They are not only doing the furniture but the carpet, and any other place they want to mark as theirs. I am going to try this other stuff, but how can you plug it into an outlet they can't get to? Their cats.

Remove the beds, entirely. Replace them with new ones if necessary, but probably not until the cats' urinating behavior lessens or ceases.

You can't "soak" items with the Petastic. Yes, a liberal amount is probably noted on the bottle, but soaking not only defeats the purpose, it wastes the product. Use dishsoap or laundry soap, either diluted with water to lightly scrub the urinated area first, allow to dry, then apply a light application of the Petastic. Allow to dry. Check the area for any urine scent and if urine scent remains, apply again, lightly. Allow to dry.

Carpet is bad to clean because urine reaches the subfloor. Only way to solve that is rip up the carpet, seal floor, and recarpet or use different flooring. Even as good as Petastic is, it won't reach the subfloor entirely, and neither will anything else.

Again, are you still fostering dogs or not?

At this time we are trying to see if we can't get the boys to stop. So no we are just with our own dogs. As for ripping carpet up, this is a rental, and we can't do that.

to at least discourage them from using the carpet area again, you could lay down kitchen foil where they are going. A lot of cats don't like the feel and sound of foil, so you can at least keep them from the area with the foil.
