Took in a pregnant feral and now we have kittens...pics
Smokey, the proud mama
Food coma
Feeding time, love those little tails
They're already starting to groom themselves a little
Little tongues, little toes
This little one is the most sturdy and will probably be quite a handful very soon
Mama and kittens are all doing very well. The kittens will be two weeks old tomorrow. Smokey is a very good mother and lets me "babysit" while she takes a break and gets some attention herself.
I do have people reminding me that I cannot keep them, LOL!

Beautiful markings on that gray & white!
We got a mama and 2 babies with eyes still closed into the shelter today, just the sweetest things.

Thanks everyone for drooling over the kittens. They are two weeks old today!
Cleo, Smokey is one of four kittens born in the neighborhood. Someone either moved in and keeps their cats (many) outside or someone is dumping them in the area. Our of all the cats and 3 (one went missing) Smokey is the only one that is people friendly. She has a sister that I was unable to catch that has a batch of kittens someplace (if they were born alive and/or is still around). They don't all come into my yard often, and when they do they eat and run.
I was able to scruff Smokey and haul her inside since she is so friendly. Once the kittens are all adopted out, I hope to have her spayed and adopted out too. She's very pretty, friendly and now house trained so she should be able to find a good home.
TinaB, she does look like Frodo! BTW I never was able to find that pic we were thinking of with Frodo and the crown. Too bad, that was a great pic!
Cindy, thanks for taking in a mama and her two babies. It's such fun watching them get bigger and develop their kitty skills, LOL! If you can, why not post some pics of your crew?

I will try if it won't scare the momma
Momma is orange tabby and the babies look white but may turn buff as they grow. I am not experienced enough to know what changes a kitten goes through, I know they usually don't keep their blue eyes.

Cindy, on the side of this board, there is a menu. Under Feline health, please click onto Kitten care and read up on what to expect. There are also a few links that will give you further information. Since the kittens are so young, you should have an idea of what to look for in development so that if they aren't developing as they should you'll know. And in that case a vet visit would be imperative.
I am though surprised that a shelter or a rescue group would offer a mother cat with such young kittens for adoption, especially with not ensuring the adopters are experienced with such little ones. But they must have felt you were offering a good home or you would not have them as you do. I hope your little ones will develop as they should and that you are having as much fun as I am having. Sadly, mine have to be adopted when they are weaned. You'll enjoy your kittens all the more since you are keeping them. Enjoy them while they're still so young, they do grow up so fast, as the saying goes!
