Please get him to the vet asap. The vet will be able to treat the fleas properly. Please do not use anything that the vet has not provided. Keep both cats away from eachother for now. The fleas will jump from cat to cat. Make sure Stuart does not go around the house if he has fleas they will spread into nooks and crannies. keep him calm, cage him and bring to vet. Do not wait till you get home from work to do this.

How is he doing? What did the vet say?

Stuart is doing quite well. I have not had a chance to take him to the vet, or used flea products.
I called in sick Thurs. to deal with this crises, and went back to work Fri. after finding Stu. Please understand I have the type of boss/job that calling in sick is suspect and frowned upon. I came clean and told the real reason why I was gone (and I really was sick!) My coworkers understood completely, my boss didn't say much, but didn't seem mad either. If he is, fine--I'll let him know I did what I had to do with no apologies. I rarely call in sick anyway.
My days off are Sun and Mon. I have to follow my gut on this--if I think Stu needs help, I'll take him to the vet Mon. (not open Sun). Right now he really seems fine. Going to the vet really stresses him out, so I'm trying to keep things calm right now.
I feel quite lucky to have found him. As a child, my parents didn't allow indoor pets. We were always losing pets--never got one back that disappeared. Stu is my first welcome home pet. My neighborhood also shoots fireworks this time of year, even though its prohibited. I'm especially glad I got him back before that starts. He flees the room if I even sneeze!
I am banning the screened porch until is fully repaired and secure--which may take awhile. Even then, as scary as this was I don't know if I can trust it again. I need to research my options for the porch. Thankfully, neither cat is desperate to go back out there.
Thanks again for your awesome support! It really helped my in my time of crises. Give your pets an extra hug from Stu and me.

Hopefully he will be okay...but yes, keep an eye on him and get him to the vet if necessary...
I would worry about the porch as well, until you went over the entire area...if you own your home, you may look at these options as well....I think some are pretty neat!!

I would usually do a speech on get yer but to the vet asap. But you have explained your situation and any amount of talking isnt going to make your disision different when it comes to dealing with a boss who is not nice. . Please keep an eye on him as you dont know where he went or if he was bitten. Please check him over well. Is he vaccinated? if not please make sure they are so if they get out again you dont have to worry.
Indoors is best but sometimes they do get out and that vaccination will help during that time. Fix the screens but surely dont let them back out again. Yes i would have to say scary as well.
Call vet tomorrow morning and tell them what happen and ask if he can be seen. You should at least call them and tell them what happen. THere might be protocal you have to follow if he isnt vaccinated.
Good luck dear.
OH and sorry you have a boss that doesnt like sick days
