I ONLY WANTED YOU
They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.
A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Read the link again please.
Your cats are not children, and they do not know to look both ways while crossing a street. You can't expect other people to be responsible for your cats. Pet ownership is a responsibility and it's up to you to ensure their safety and protection.
Don't expect or depend on any cat to "just stick around the back of your yard", 99.999% of all cats who's owners allowed them to do so, disappeared, or got hit by a car, or were killed, and every single one of them could have been prevented. If you care about your remaining cat(s), you'll make the effort to keep her indoors only. The link explains how to do that.

Re: n e advice about getting two cats to become friends
You had your new kitty for less than a month and a half, and the poor baby was not even a year old yet before you were unresponsible and let him out where he died getting hit by a car. How fair was that to HIM!!
There's no excuse to continue letting your other cats out, since you already know what happens when you do. That was the entire point of my post and the informative link I gave you, get it?
No need to respond, thank you.

Re: n e advice about getting two cats to become friends
If you're from the UK and you believe strongly that cats should be allowed outdoors, why on earth would you come to a US site, where we believe strongly that cats should be kept indoors where they're safe and get all personally insulted about it?
It would be like if I, as a Christian, went to a Jewish message board and asked them for advice about Jesus, then got personally insulted when they told me they didn't believe he was God's son. It doesn't make sense. I know they don't believe the same things I do, so why go there and get MAD about it?
The thing is, with the indoor/outdoor debate, there's factual evidence to support keeping your cat indoors, while there's only anecdotal evidence to support letting them roam free. So... if you're just dead set in your beliefs that it's cruel to keep your pets inside where they're safe, don't get upset when you come here KNOWING we believe something different, and argue about it anyway.
We're very sorry about the loss of your cat, and I have no doubt that you loved him very much and are deeply mourning his loss. But consider this: If it was truly detrimental to cats to keep them locked inside, do you really think that all the MILLIONS of cat owners in the US would have failed to notice?
