Next month in May...

Post by CynthiaR (Whitewolf) »

it will be time for yearly shots for Cuddle and Muffy "MEEOOOOUUCCHHHHH" 8-[ I know they will hate it when come to visit yearly check-up by their vets. Mickey already got his shots last year on October. :| Oh, well. Not easy for 'em.

Traci,
Why does Mickey always get jealous when I was holding Cuddle? He has his daddy...but after I play with him and gave him enuff attention, he thinks Cuddle stole the attention. And started hissing at Cuddle and then Cuddle got pissed off and chase after him and they got into a fight. I don't quite get it. We all gave 'em equal attentions, loves, etc. :-k Any idea? They're all healthy...haven't been sick since the last time they had years ago as kittens.

Cynthia, it could be that Mickey has develped a bond with you. Most cats will pick one person in the family in which to bond the most. While YOU are bonded to all of them, Mickey may feel that only you are HIS person, and he could be slightly irritated if Cuddle is getting your attention.

That's not a bad thing, it just means that cats will react in various ways to either deal with the tension, jealousy or just because they feel like it at that particular moment. Mickey probably loves Cuddle alot, he has just decided that he wanted to display some agression.

Mine do that too sometimes. But you don't want it to be a frequent thing, or to let it escalate into an agressiveness between them.

I forgot to mention about the vaccinations. Ask your vet if he has adapted the 3-year protocol in his practice. If your kitties have been current and up-to-date on the required vaccinations, I would suggest not vaccinating them every year, but rather every three years. (for FVRCP). Rabies will be done as your vet suggests, but this too, can be done on a 3-year basis.

Just remember, if you plan on adopting any new kitties in the future, those new kitties should receive all kitten boosters, then one annually. If all kitties are kept up to date, then all of them can be switched to a 3-year protocol.

Okay, sure. I'll ask vet. Sadly, there will not be Rabies shot for our cats since they checked out..nothing around here. Just the regular kind of shots instead of rabie shots. Downey Hospital did gave rabies shots last year to 3 of 'em. Because our city hospital is full of boarding, they want our cats there but no room. Then I have to drive 'em to Downey Hospital..and vet demanded that they all received rabie shots including Mickey who also needed the annual shots last year before boarding 'em. Hate fumigation...sheez....I call the owner dumbest guy who didn't advance the notice of fumigation so we can plan before we get out of the apartment building...grrrrr...I'll bite him. LOL.

Oh, I see about Mickey. Whew....thanks, Traci. I'll keep in mind about Mickey. Such as darling one, he kept reminding me of Lucky of what he's doing. Cuddle is still a shy one. Muffy would rather jump on 'em in their sleeps. I dunno why he loves to do that. I know, "Sweet Revenge" on Mickey for making his life hell by bugging him, and Cuddle for making a smell out of him in a funny way. Poor Muffy, he would just "sigh" and finds a new spot to sleep even it will not work since they know where to find him. lol. Now the owner realizes he can't kick us out, because they're smart and kept the home clean by now. Whew! All the old days of peeing in the wrong spots in the wrong place in the wrong time are over..so now they go straight off to the box and do it. Finally. Smile please. :D See ya later...I won't be here all day tomorrow because of college...don't worry, when I'll get online late tomorrow night or Tuesday afternoon. :-) See ya later. Give kitties hugs and kisses for us here. Purrrrrrs.
