If you have been leaving dry food out for them I wouldn't worry too much...the have had access to food.

I'm surprised so many people free feed....I can't free feed Gizmo, he will gain too much weight..my DD can't free feed her cats because the do the same. Now Willow on the other hand contains herself, but if she was living in the same space with Gizmo he'd eat her food!!

I do have one fatty that I would love to find a forever home for where he can be an only cat and put on a good diet...you would think this cat never ever eats the way he acts around food...and yes...he IS overweight and we are attempting to get it down...but hard with multiple cats...

See that's the thing- I don't know if they ARE hungry. Plus it aint like they're skinny either. If a person goes in the kitchen there's a 75% chance at least one of them, usually both come in the kitchen expecting to be fed. and if you move their bowls it goes up to 100%

That's how we knew Falcor was sick - I moved the bowl 5 times across the floor and he was no where to be seen- poor Dragon was practically twitching from expecting to get fed that night LOL

Dragon is slim and definitely smaller than Falcor.
Falcor has ALWAYS been the eater

and I am trying to determine if I am not feeding them enough or they are just greedy little brats - conditioned by certain events ...

Hi i did get your pm thanx

I think that the free feeding dry might help. You might want to try a multiple household catfood. Not sure how good it is as i dont have cats anymore but maybe you can look into it. See if feeding htem the dry helps. If gthey see it's there all the time they might not run everytime. Although our cats just liked doing it anyway. LOL
