What an amazing animal. Thank you so much for sharing his story -- it's certainly a welcome, positive one! And I agree with Tambrey, he's not ugly at all. He's a beautiful, sweet cat.

JD, I have a blind dog...but it is from cataracts. Animals are so adaptable in that sight is really not as important as we might think. It's more of a smell thing with them. Java gets around fine...just don't move furniture...lol. She is a dainty little girl, and walks around till her nose hits something and she walks around it. It's kind of funny to watch.

I know you can scent things such as steps, corners etc with different scents, and I tried it for a while, but she seems to do OK with familiar territory. Thanks for being so wonderful to Simon!

Well, its nice to meet and re-meet people here. Believe me, I read and reread a lot of info provided here before I decided to join. Quite honestly, I'm cat-people shy from way back when. ;)

I've had a couple of blind dogs, myself but this is my first blind cat.I always have an array of animals with "problems".

I have a three legged turtle, a deaf dog and a half grown pup I took in when he was 8 days old.

In all, I have 4 dogs and two cats, plus a turtle and a pleco fish.

Only blind people would say he's ugly. He's so beautiful! I love his coloring.

That is a wonderful and touching story!! I think Simon is beautiful, his character shows through, he looks like he's smiling and happy. I'm glad there are people like you in the world who will take in animals like this...I bet he has lots of love to share!! Welcome!!
