HI Group:
Just have a few questions. I do dog rescue in my area, and so we get quite a bit of them coming through our home. I was told by the last people who adopted a dog from me, that they use C.E.T Hextra Premium Chews with Chlorhexidine for dogs, in between the teeth cleaning she has done on their dog. She said the vet was quite impressed with how well the teeth looked. And said it was the cleanest set of teeth she had seen. My question to you is have you ever heard anything bad about this product. And if not, where can you buy this product at? Thanks for any help you can be. God bless.

Re: Dental Care suggestions
Personally I would rather use the C.E.T. tooth paste and tooth brush on the dog or cat and not the raw hides. Raw hides in my opinion is just a treat that can make a dog overweight. Takes but a minute to brush the teeth once a night after their last water drink. We had a Newfoundland dog that we got in 1990 and he had pearly whites till he was put down in 2002 before his 13th birthday. He never had a teeth cleaning by a vet at all.
The person you are talking about is saying that they use the rawhides INBETWEEN teeth cleanings. So I would recommend just brushing them to avoid having to have a teeth cleaning done at all. When someone adopts the animal recomend that as well to them.
Yes the person you are referring to has a dog with great teeth becuase they get them cleaned and even if it is just once a year or two it's still a lot of putting animal under when you can just brush them to avoid getting the dentistry to begin with.
Google C.E.T. products and you will see where to get them from. Your vet may also have tooth paste and brushes available as well and so would petsmart or petco

Re: Dental Care suggestions
Actually they have their groomer do their dogs teeth. And for the last couple of times they didn’t need to be done, because they started to use these C.E.T stuff. So the dog isn’t being put under. They just brush his teeth at the doggy groomers.
About the time I get these rescues they have past the stage of letting you man handle them, to clean their teeth. Besides with the amount of dogs we have come through that is the last thing I will be needing to do for them. I do suggest to those who adopt our dogs to keep up a regiment of cleaning the teeth. And if they need to train the dog to let them do so, I give them info on how to go about doing that. The reason why I asked about these chews is because it will be helpful if they truly do work. Thanks for your suggestions. God bless

frawri I see what you mean about the already past the stage thing. Been there done that. I dont recomend anyone use those rawhides because people tend to over do it and therefore make the pet overweight. But if you are sure they will be responsible to do so you might want to suggest it.
