Chloe Jean Update!
Chloe Jean Update!
Chloe is a joy and what a lover. She nuzzles and cuddlesand is truly going to be a lap cat.
HOneybun and her had some hissing rounds, but guess what Sunday they played at HOneybun's turbot scratcher. This may work out.
Chloe has a vet appoint tomorrow to make sure she is ok, seems to be, but want to know she is puurfect.

..........Traci
Traci your thoughts please
Chloe seems to eat small amounts of wet food which I mixed with that catsip milk concoction to get her to eat. Ihope this is ok. She eats a little dry but most the Nutro kitten canned.
Any thoughts or suggestions on feeding her. She is approx 8---9 weeks old.
Has vet appointment in the am and is using hte litterbox like clockwork, both ways each day.
Thanks,
Pics will follow soon. Mona, Chloe and Honeybun

That's wonderful Mona!! I can't wait to see her
I think what you are doing to feed her is fine...I don't know if it would be better to use KMR instead of the catsip milk...I usually use KMR but that's because I always have it on hand anyway. Maybe Traci has better input about that. I usually stick with the canned food around that age...if I do give dry food it's usually soaked in water to moisten it, or mix it in with the wet, just a small amount at a time. She will do fine on the canned food though.

Wow, I missed your first post on her age, she's barely two months, and your vet spayed her this early. Not a problem, Mona, of course, I'm just a die-hard for waiting til at least 4 months, 6 months at best.
As for the KMR, I totally agree with Tina, it's a staple around here! I'd wait a few more weeks or even a month to see if she is more interested in her dry food, you can offer it to her now if you want, but until she's past her teething stage, nothing wrong with canned.

Shows you what I get for paying attention, LOL. Shelters I can understand and do advocate early spay/neuter, simply for the purpose of education and adoption policies. Had Chloe been adopted from a private party, I would have opted for a later spay, but that's just my opinion.
In any event, her spay turned out well and uneventful, and you no longer have to worry about it. It's those shelters who do NOT have an attending vet or use a spay/neuter clinic and release the pet directly after anesthesia, do not offer followup care, don't educate about benefits, vaccines, deworming, etc. that I have a problem with!!

Traci I agree with you. (Chloe had her vet visit today!)
Just came back with Chloe and she is great. They dewormed her and she ways 2lbs. Normal temp, and active little girl.
However, the vet wants the KMR stopped due to diarrhea, so its back to regular canned and dry. She ate some dry today!!
We go back for our other shots next month.
All in all she is agreat little girl.

Mona,
I am so glad she is doing so well. I'll bet she and Honeybun are going to be bestest buds before you even know it. Keep up the great work and the posting!!
