I followed some Acme people here, whom I really respected.

The age group fits me better than some other boards.

Kevin is a hoot!

Traci was by my side with Winnie..Davet had good ideas with Biscott's spinal surgery. Karen is always there with her laboratory knowledge. Not to mention the encouragement from people who just care.

I have learned things from Skeptic and E's about NO.

I know I have missed things, so help me out.

I followed tambrey here!!! ROFL I remember when you first told me about this place and i posted here then got so busy then back again. Couldnt ask for a better crew! Different personalities, different perspectives, different age groups, yet we all have the same goals! LOVE IT! I have most certainly grown and have bettered myself by listening to the advice here.

I also followed the SANE people from acmepet here. Where the others went, I have no clue, but I'm glad I didn't follow.

I love the different perspectives, but most of all the tolerence (most of the time) for varying viewpoints - all tempered with some (not that common) common sense.

I love davet. He's not only a hoot, he's a wealth of wisdom (even if his typing isn't as good as it could be)

Traci is wonderful too, even if our politics often don't agree. It's more than obvious that she's seen all kinds of different pet problems and knows what she's talking about

Kevin is great. Wish he was around more - same with jdf.

I feel like I know all of you. One day we need to have a 'family reunion' - how 'bout Orlando - cheap motels and a famous mouse - what more could a bunch of animal nuts ask for!

I used to be on acmepet, and came here but I don`t know how I knew. How long ago was it that acmepet closed down? My memory is poor, as you can see.

When Acme finally folded I tried some other places, then ended up here same date as many others: 25 April '03. For a long time I have thought of this as my internet home... and of fellow members as my internet family. Unfortunately I have been obsessed with other matters for the past 19 months and may have often appeared as a testy, bitter, self-centered old naysayer... especially since the sudden, unexpected death of my wonderful German shepherd Winnie (1 February 2006.)

Iconoclastic loner, sort of a benign recluse, I must remain, as that is what I have been for the last 30 of my 79 and 1/2 years - but basically I am friendly, positive and hopeful in outlook: very glad to still be considered a member of this Best Pet Board ever on the world.wide.web!

Orlando is great for me...but that dang hurricane season is coming up again!

It's getting hot too. We still haven't turned on the AC, but it won't be long before the breezes stop and the humidity rises. The best time of year to come is in the winter - Jan or Feb - no school holidays, so it's not as crowded. The downside to that is that the hotels are more expensive than in Summer, but the Orlando area is FULL of hotels and motels of all price ranges and varying ammenities.
