nor pig ears but close

mzkes me think also I had a patient waking up from a routine spay when I saw her gagging while she was stll asleep..a piece of rawhide was stuck in her throat...in spite of the direction of no food or water before surgery she must have snuck that in..she could have died from that and died real quick..fortunalty I could hear her gagging and got it out

these things also can carry salmonella

here is another thing I posted:

I suspect that this will fall on deaf ears but I used to tell clients not to use the rawhides because of the multiple troubles they coul;d cause. I reccomended that they buy the big heavy calcified cow bones..they can spend hours chewing on them and never break off a piece abiid enough to cause any problems..they can work on them for hours at a time and keep themselves occupied...again just my opinion

they are bones you get at a pet shop...from the leg of a cow...they are from buchard (sp) cows and are cooked or baked so that they be come just one big hunk of bone..Takes hours or week for some dogs to get them chewed up...usually come in a clear plasti wrap or maybe stored open on the shelves..can;t do any harm unless your dog drops one on your bare toes, firwst thing in the morning

Bet Honey would do that. Unfortunately with her age of 14 and her 'old teeth' the only chewy things I give her are Pedigree chewies for clean teeth...she loves them. I was one who did take to heart your experience with rawhide and stopped giving it to her a long time ago.
