Actually, from things I've been reading Menu Foods knew there was a problem back in December and failed to look into it, after their own test animals died. Had they did something earlier they could have been heroes for pulling everything. With the way they handled it, they're just scum.

That would make sense given the timeframe of the products they recalled.

I personally think they are lower than scum...Traci would ban me forever if I replied what I'm ealy thinking right now..

Every once in a while we would give one of our cats the Nutro pouch as a treat. I'd say he probably had 8 pouches since December? Would this be enough to hurt him? I wonder how much causes damage, whether it is an everyday feeding, or a feeding at all. Has anyone heard?

It may not have necessarily been the same lot of pouches. Do you have any leftover packages to check? We were feeding Nutro pouches as well but I had about a dozen left over when the news came out. The lot numbers did not match what was recalled, thankfully. Still though if you suspect your cat is ill from the food, have him checked out by your vet.

You can also go back to the store you purchased them from and ask the manager if what they took off the shelves was precautionary or exact matches to the tainted lots.

If the recall had been sooner, my cat Pussywillow may still be alive. Unfortunately, I did feed her four pouches a day,of the IAMs, she would only lap up the gravy, she did eat some dry food, she was frail, so I thought giving her the extra "gravy" to eat was helping her, who knew I was killing her, my heart is broken, I need to put it behind me however, my cat Jellibean is displaying some of her same symptoms, I am taking him to the vet today.

There is nothing any law suit can do, my cat is gone, all the money in the world will not bring her back, but if there is a law suit, I will be right there, the money should go to rescue organizations, in memory of all the pets that died or became sick, where I am sure it can do some good.

I'm so very sorry you've lost your kitty and another may be ill as wel. Any law suit, personal or class action will take a long time, however, IAMS, Menu Foods as well as certain store are reimbursing people for their vet bills. You may want to look into that angle.

As you said, it won't bring your sweetie back but maybe the reimbursement may do some rescue group some good.

I'm so sorry to hear about Pussywillow...this whole situation is so incredibly sad... I hope all with Jellibean turns out okay.

Thank you all for your caring posts. I took Jellibean to my vet yesterday afternoon for the blood work and urinalysis, I will let all know results when I get them today.
