and no longer wanted around.

Do you know he's scared and depressed
and has lost all faith?

He had fleas and a cold,
but don't worry --
You've unburdened your load.

I adopted your cat today.
Were you having a baby or moving away?
Did you suddenly develop allergies
or was there no reason he couldn't stay?

I adopted your cat today.
He doesn't play or eat much.
He's very depressed,
but he will learn again to trust.

I adopted your cat today
and here he will stay.
He's found his forever home
and a warm bed to lay.

I adopted your cat today
and I will give him all that he could need.
Patience, love, security, and understanding.
Hopefully, he will forget your selfish deed.

That's sad, but it has hope. Unfortunately in our town if someone doesn't want an animal anymore it rarely gets a second chance.

*sigh* That made me cry....we've been considering getting another cat for Willow to have someone to keep her company while we are gone during the day, but we are considering a kitten and I feel so guilty. But the reason behind it is all the adult cats we had with Willow all tormented her and wouldn't play with her. So we feel to give her a fair chance she needs a young cat or kitten that can grow up with her. I wish I could give all cats a forever home
