Cat Pouch

I hope that what they call it but does anyone have any cats that have a pouch? Cuz Baby have big pouch and i wonder how do you make it go away... She is only 12 pound (vet said it good weigh) So hopefully anyone have tip.

yeah...all of my cats have developed a "pouch" after being spayed/neutered

If the vet said she is healthy, and NOT overweight, then it's not a problem.

If you mean that she has skin that hangs downward from the lower abdomen but it is not fat, then chances are, it was a result of being spayed, or due to her anatomy. It's nothing to worry about unless she is overweight.

My three dudes all have the pooch. Pat is only 10 pounds and skinny. He's still got the pooch, but it's only hanging skin. Spike is 14 pounds and hefty. His pooch has a bit of substance to it.

Yea she has it since she was a kitten and after she got a spay and it just got big... but i just wanted to ask because every time she run and the pouch hit her legs like i said it big... Why is it that bad if she overweight? But it seem like it doesnt bother her when she get hit by pouch... But i never seen any other cats that have big pouch...

Nothing is good about cats being overweight. Obesity prohibits activity, puts pressure on bones/limbs, weakens bones, causes arthritis, may create skin lesions due to inability to groom, increases pressure and strain on the heart, may increase frequency of FLUTD, and may predispose to liver failure and diabetes, amoung other things.

Wow That sound bad... But I wouldnt let them be overweight cuz i know that can cause problem but i play with them alot and try to keep their weight down cuz baby used to be 14 pound and vet told me that she is overweight and need to lose two pound and i just play with baby like very 1 or 2 hour and any time baby want to play...

My cat has a pouch. She had kittens then was spayed but it doesn´t bother her and isn´t too big. The other one just got spayed so we shall see! My mother´s cat is massive and has a huge pouch but it´s the result of an operation not spaying. She was allowed outdoors and someone kicked her in the street. The vet said he could see the marks from the shoes on her ribs. That kind of thing makes me sick. That´s why I like your Indoors Only policy. Poor little kitty, I just don´t understand people like that.

Aww did they ever find out who kick her? Yea i like indoor only policy cuz there is so much stuffs that can go wrong with cats...
