Another Friday Mr. Blue story...it was "Take your Pet t

Post by Mary Plummer »

...Work" day today, and I brought Mr. Blue to my office for a short visit. We're getting a new director in a couple of weeks, and we're all a bit nervous about him, so I thought this might be my last best chance. My boss (Associate Director) loves dogs, and she and several other co-workers have already met Mr. Blue, although only outside. 4 of my co-workers have never met him, including the man whose wife really wants them to get a dog, so this seemed like a good time to take Mr. Blue in for a visit. We stayed for about an hour, and he was a great hit! I then took him home and went back to work, and was informed immediately that my co-workers like him a lot, and would rather work with him than me :D I said fine, but I thought they would then be charged with cruelty to animals! He was praised for his good behavior, and for being so happy, and having a nice soft coat. The man whose wife wants a dog said he's going to have to tell her they can't, because the best one has already been claimed! It makes my heart sing to hear him praised like he was. Of course, I'm biased but I think they're all right on!

'Right on" is what I say also...

Good for you and Mr. Blue! I wasn't sure the "Take your pets to work day" was for real... so glad to hear it was, and that Mr. Blue shone, as usual. I wanted to say something about the pics below of him lying in his "digs"... very cute. But this has been such a frantic week for me, I never got the chance: would bring up post, then be 'called away'... :( Must say, though, I am a bit envious... if I had work, and took my big rowdy galumph there... no doubt something fantastically embarrassing would happen. Thanks for holding up the honor of all us dog owners!

Thanks E's! I DID have an old towel in my pocket...

...just in case he decided to mark something inside, which he didn't thankfully! He did raise his leg in the grass in front of the building housing the Dean's office. I thought this demonstrated impeccably good taste! :D Our university is facing major budget shortfalls from the state this year (I guess most are), and the Dean's office has already decided that our yearly raises will so tiny I can't figure out why they're even giving them. Mr. Blue also did his "sit pretty" for them, unasked for, where he sits back on his hind legs and sits straight up. They asked me how we trained him to do that, and I said we didn't. He did it once, we praised him extravagantly, and he's been doing it periodically ever since.

I hope your week is no longer frantic! I kept telling myself all week that Friday WOULD indeed appear, and things would get better then.

Loved haring about Mr. B at work...so funny (that your job would be cruelty to animals! - mine, too!) Would love to see a pic of him doing that trick.

That's a great pic of Winnie sitting pretty! We've tried...

...to take a pic of Mr. Blue doing it, but he never stays there when the camera comes out. I'm still hoping, though...he does it every couple of days.

Take Your Dog to Work Day

Post by ShelbysMom »

Good Morning America had their staff's dogs on the show yesterday. One dog was especially outgoing. Another wanted to crawl under the chairs and had no idea why he was there.
It sounds like so much fun!
