oh I pray it is just a muscle spasm...we got our first real snow yesterday and Sammie has been doing soooo well...running and playing with the big dogs lately even...and being more agile than he has in ages...

but tonight when I just let him out to go potty...we shoveled him a clear to the ground area to go in...he would not come back up...I finally went to pick him up and he was shaking and whining a bit and when I put him down inside, he hopped to his crate with his right hind leg up...the one that was mostly affected when he became paralyzed last year...

he has not shown any indications of anything being wrong...not even an occassional yelp if he turns wrong, which he was doing a few months back when he was still healing...

so I hope and pray it was just a cold spasm from having a BM and it being so shivery cold outside...

I immediately got him settled into his crate and covered with his blankie and he was just shivering away...I petted him until he relaxed, then I put a few kibbles of food in his dish and he turned to happily munch away...

tomorrow will be a mostly crate day for him...and as I said, I pray it was just a muscle spasm...

I too, pray it's nothing, maybe check his paw pads to make sure he didn't get them too cold.

Watch him like a hawk, but best to at least report this to your vet so he can keep it recorded. If he feels Sammie should be seen just as a safegaurd, heed his advice.

yep...I did check his paw pads and made sure there was no snow packed in there...his feet were cold, of course...but oh yes, I am home tomorrow so will be keeping a close eye on him...and carrying him up and down the stairs even...

I will call the vet tomorrow and make a note in my notebook...tpo see if we begin to see a pattern developing that needs further looking into...

How is Sammy doing? That little guy has gone through sooo much.

thanks Lisa....actually he is doing great today...he was the same way this morning when we let him out...he ran outside okay, but I think the cold just got to him when he was pooping...and he got a muscle spasm...I have had him more in the crate today, for his own safety from the big dogs as for his back...but every time I have let him out, he runs around and has been fine going outside...

Yeah!!! Great to hear that Sammy setback was temporary....
