My Sarah is Sick :(

My Sarah was kind of lethargic yesterday and lastnight when she was napping on the desk beside me I noticed she sounded a bit wheezy...this morning when I came down, she still had not moved from her position on the desk...thank God she moved when I called her!!...But I could tell from her eyes she was not feeling well...

Got to the vet right away and she has a URI...she has had one dose of Clavamox so far today and will go the full timeframe for taking it...

Prayers that she is feeling better soon...right now she is curled up in the sun on the dining room table, sleeping and slightly wheezing...like she has a stuffy nose...and that is where it sounds like it is from because when I listen to her chest, and when the vet did...she is clear there, so hopefully it will stay upper and not go further down...and she has done a bit of coughing, like maybe a hairball, but nothing comes up...poor baby...

however, if the wheezing does not get better, or gets worse, she will be in later this week to check and see if it is turning into pneumonia or anything else...

Poor baby, hope it's only a mild URI...do keep a close eye on her and the other cats too for signs they may be catching/transmitting a viral.

thanks...I am hoping we caught it early enough to ward off anything further or worse...and oh yes, I will be keeping an eye on the others...

I laughed and told the vet today I should just invest in a HUGE bottle of the Clavamox powder and mix as needed!!

well...she has decided to wake up and is grooming herself...maybe she is feeling a bit better already...but will continue to bottle until it is gone...as directed....we do not need whatever it is rebounding double strength on her!!

Sarah is sounding MUCH better today....she is sitting here on my lap purrring and there is no raspiness to her voice...well okay...she HAS no voice...she has not even been able to meow for a couple of days...poor baby...but I know she is feeling better...I have seen her eating and drinking and now she is loving up to me...she even is not too difficult to get the meds into...

and really...Clavamox does not taste THAT bad!!...I had some on a finger lastnight and did not realize it...

But years ago, we had a vet who tasted EVERYTHING that he ever gave to a critter...he said if it does not taste good, it is harder to get into them!

Glad to hear she's feeling better. Be careful with the Clav though. It can cause some nausea, so be sure your little girl is still eating. Fingers crossed that she will be all better very soon!
